LOMPAT TIKAM
(pic of lompat tikam)
Lompat tikam is actually a green colored custard made from Pandan leaves, topped with a white coconut milk layer and served with gula melaka syrup. It taste sweet, and creamy due to the use of the coconut milk. It is not even THAT sweet to begin with, so it will be a great tea time appetizer!
PS: The name of this dish, if translated into English is 'Jump Stab' Hahaha!
KUIH KOCI
(pic of kuih koci)
Sweet and sticky are the most suitable words to describe this 'kuih'. Made from 'tepung pulut', 'Kuih Koci' is filled with grated coconut that is cooked with the brown sugar. It is then made into smaller dumplings and covered with a banana leaves. I bet the children (AND YOU) will love this special tea time snack! Enjoy it with a cup of tea and you will feel the village breeze sweep across your face!

TANG YUAN

Originally eaten only during the Winter Solstice of each year, Tang Yuan is now the desserts that can be found eaten almost everyday. Some are filled with sweetbean paste and served in boiling water, and others are often unfilled but served with the sweet and creamy coconut milk. It also comes if interesting colors and fillings, so you can have fun making it on your own or just have it for a supper meal.
BAK CHANG
(pic of bak chang)
Back Chang is an traditional Chinese food, made from glutinous rice, stuffed with an array of fillings and wrapped in bamboo leaves. It can be sweet, or savoury, depending on the fillings that we choose to have. Well, looking at it made me remember of the Malays's 'ketupat'. Instead of having just sweet stuffing, you might as well want to try the Bak Chang that contains meat.
THE INDIAN CUISINE
BARFI
(pic of barfi)
Barfi is a sweet milk confection made from condensed milk and sugar along with several other types of nuts. It had been chilldren's favorite for a long time due to its goodness, not to mention us too. This candy melts in the mouth, giving us the unique taste of India that we have never seen before (because Indian cuisine are always related to hot and herbs and spices).
LADOO
(pic of ladoo)
Ladoo is a delicacy that is made from flour and sugar with several other ingredients. I knew ladoo from the Hindustan movies, since I rarely heard about it. Once, my friends gave me for a taste and it is just brilliant!
The sweetness along with some pinches of hotness of chillies is just unique. It is a popular wedding door gift for the Indian wedding, so try it if you have the chance of tasting it!
